Austria To Sell Russian Gazprom Property At Public Auction, The List Includes Historical Artifacts

Austria announced the sale of inventory of the Austrian subsidiary of Russian energy giant Gazprom at auction on May 24. Local media reported.

A total of 240 items, that contain the Europe Pipeline Map and a historic map of the Russian Empire, will be sold at the top price.

Earlier, Gazprom Austria GmbH filed for bankruptcy at the Vienna Commercial Court in April, Regarding the suspension of natural gas deliveries by Gazprom Export Limited, St. Petersburg.

The furniture of Gazprom’s Vienna subsidiary consists of 240 pieces, including high-quality office furniture, paintings, audio equipment, plants, computers, telephones, safes, shredders and even a wine tempering cabinet. Among the items is a historical map of the Russian Empire, titled in Latin as « Mappa generalis totius Imperii Russici. »

Anyone whether company or individual can bid online at the auction. Many applications have already been received.

Some paintings from the Austrian office of Gazprom may also have artistic value, as they could be works by regional or international artists. Austrian media outlets suggest.
